You are suppose to communicate with the analysts. Provide them with the information they need to make their estimates. You are suppose to beat the estimates by a penny or two and then tell everyone that next quarter is going to be lousy. The bottom will fall out. Call up the analysts who are way out their with the high numbers - give them the bad news - earthquakes, delays, International uncertainties, blah, blah blah. Beat down the numbers and then surprise - we beat estimates by a penny or two and we repeat the process. There must be some reason for it, people tell me Andy Bryant is a genuis. But, he did las quarter also. He comes in a penny belwo estimates and he tells everybody the next quarter is going to be great. Andy, Andy, get the picture. That is not the way to do it. It's not as if Intel is a failing company. Intel is achieving record sales and earning record profits. Only, Andy could make us feel like we are going out of business next week. I can't beleive Craig Barrett is enjoying the way this being handled. Mary
