David, I'm in bear/correction/crash school right now. Frankly I'm too busy watching this unfold: home.earthlink.net The fact that numbers like those below can easily be so ignored or dismissed at this late in the game confirms that my attention is in the right place for the moment. biz.yahoo.com peoplepolls.com I think you and I both know that all the polly wishful thinking and happy face patches in the world won't appreciably change those numbers for the better in the next few months. >>>But then again... maybe all those billions of dollars spent on hardware & software over the past 4 or 5 decades has just migrated over to MightySoft Windoz platforms...?<<< Well, I'm betting that some of that money in fact did and that those who migrated will be very unhappy in the next few months. "Basic question... ever participated on a software project that finished on time? Ever been on a big software project that was anywhere close?" I have many times at two different companies, one private and one public. I just finished a one year rewrite of a client/server project that moved an accounting system from a NeXT platform (Steve Jobs OS platform) to a PowerBuilder application. A one year effort delivered on the exact date in the project plan and 200 hours under budget, just to name one. I was also on 2 other projects; 60+ people, 2 years and a 4 year that also came in on time and budget (one from each of the two companies I have worked at, I was not a project leader on these though) I could name many others, but I have other things to do. So, your point is???
