Here is the latest speculation:I spoke to a friend who is very familiar with this play and the geology in these areas and his comments were as follows:

1. The high ratio between the recent background gas levels (40 to 50 units) and connection gas levels (exceeding 170 units) indicate that we are extremely close if not right on top of the 1st Carnerous Sands.

2. The PDC bit that broke down was not designed to drill through chert. This chert that caused the faultered drill bit was probably encountered in the thin layer of shale which is the bottom of the Devil Water Sands and the top of the 1st Carnerous Sands.

3. As a reference.... ELH #1 only penetrated the 1st Carnerous Sands.

It seems we are close. We must have patience. The gas has been down there for millions of years. If it takes a few more hours or a couple of more days and an extra drill bit to get it out safely and properly, then so be it.

Good luck to all,
LHG
