Sales and orders of wireless phones increased very significantly. Orders were up very significantly in the Americas, Europe and
Asia. Sales were higher in all regions led by Asia. Analog phone sales declined significantly while digital phone sales increased
very significantly. Digital phones represented 89% of all wireless phone sales in the quarter. The most rapid growth occurred in
Global System for Mobile (GSM) communications products in Europe and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) products in
Asia and the Americas.

Sales for paging products declined significantly and orders were lower, due to continued weakness in all regions, especially Asia.
Consumer two-way radio product sales and orders were significantly higher.

Motorola signed a $250 million agreement with Sprint PCS to provide digital wireless telephones and accessories. The companies
also announced a collaborative effort to deliver wireless Internet capabilities using dual-band CDMA phones.
