A characteristic difficulty of the Reagan supporters as a group seems to be -- tell me if I'm wrong -- that they can not conceive of anyone taking a critical position toward their icon except as such views, in fact, represent support for others who happen, also, for their own separate reasons, to be critical of Reagan. This characteristic difficulty even extends to the apparent and puzzling assumption that a criticism of Reagan amounts to an endorsement of Clinton.

There is, fyi, such a thing as independent, non-aligned, critical thought about political icons. Try to adjust to it. This is the United States of America. Welcome.
