Jimmy,

Re:"Intels miss"

Just a note from the conf call.

When asked would they have met/exceeded estimates if 0.18 and higher speed CPUS had shipped the answer was yes.

I wonder how folks like Niles will view all this.

Even with a 700Mhz Coppermine ASPs will continue to suffer as mainstream ASPs will get trashed.

I can see 600Mhz and below being seriously below $200 ASPS for Q4 99.

Remember AMD will be shipping plenty of 600/650/700 plus maybe some 750/800's as well and were forecasting an ASP south of $300.

I don't see how Intel is going to handle the transition as the ASPs get trashed for sub 600Mhz range speeds.

In q1 next year this will be fine as majority of Intels volume will be coppermines.

But Q4 75% of Intels devices will be Celerons and PIII 0.25 micron devices all sub 600 Mhz.

Seems like Q4 could be absolutely BRUTAL for Intel with a recovery in Q1 2000.

regards,

kash

McPanic - Re: "Good try trying to get Intels' Analyst estimates down to $.55 but I don't think it worked. <G> "

Those were my own estimates - I have no influence over Intel Analysts .
