lol jim.. i promised john he could go first..
but befor we get in to any nitty gritty, let me say that i feel that the company has a solid plan in china, and is deploying current state of the art PROVEN technology in a maner consistent with those skilled at the enhancement of poorly managed fields. i am convinced that the technology described {which i am familiar with) will be used in a maner that is light years ahead of what is current standard practice. the technology has application all over north america in old fields and fields that have been abused to get the oil out quickly, or those that were damaged when drilled. i currently have a well that was completed in a oil field and it was completed differently than the old style wells in the area.. the result is allmost 2.5 times the production.. so i do know that there are some fields that have huge potential.. i am also convinced that the company has suficient technical personell to undertake the initial stages of the work in china..
folks try to remember that this was a technical meeting .. not a bussiness meeting, and the company was quite open about what they saw were the main problems in china , and were very clear on what they wanted to do about them, and i repeat that the methods described are known to those skilled inthe art , and have proven to work in cases simmilar to those described in china..
i feel that china is a people place.. without relationships you will get nowhere, even if youhave the best mouse trap.
you also have to remember that the folks in china dont sign many deals.. they talk a lot but sign very little.. and digg has a signed deal.. all they have to do is have there staff do what they allready know how to do.
on the other side of the company there is there sensor tech , that is used to find locations to drill.. the company did not disclose to me any details , i certainly think i have a very good idea what they are doing.. the key to this tech is bieng able to get into an area prior to any major activity , while you can still use the tech to find good large locations from aircraft.. in more developed areas .. it needs to be done onthe ground .. for high detaill, and hence may not offer such an advantage... but as i have found in my own bussines, the value of the picture is more that the sum of the time and tech needed to make it.. so they are going to use the tech themselves, and hence dont need to prove to the industry that it is worth it.. wish i could have had the money to do that when i started .. but im told there something good about doing it the old fashioned way.. .. well so im told..
the new facilities will be opperational soon , and i will meet more withthem in the future to see if there are any potential areas of cooperation ..
once again this was a tech meeting ..not a bussiness meeting..
and as such .. what i heard made sense, and has worked in similar conditions else where..
imo
tim
