Petz, what you have to keep in mind is that AMD is at a big disadvantage in the supporting infrastructure area for a while. So it's not really that important how many processors AMD can produce at any speed near-term.

If Intel was smart they would take advantage of this shortage (stablize their prices) for the remainder of this quarter.

On the other hand, cheaper Intel CPUs might motivate VIA and others to prolong their focus on Intel supporting infrastructures as opposed to diverting more attention to AMD's Slot A and Super 7 platforms.

So it might be a question of whether they (intel) want to maximize near-term profits or forego near-term profits in an attempt to bury AMD over the next several quarters.
