Thread, I've been extremely busy during this past week and will very likely continue to be so into the immediate future. My backlog of replies both here and elsewhere is starting to mount up. I want to extend my apologies to anyone who has sent me a note where I have yet to reply. I hope to cover as much ground as possible as soon as I get a breather. I miss chewing the rag, too.

Ray, the Data Comm tutorial on Tier 1 peering was an excellent find. There are plenty of provocative sub-topics covered in the article which, after scrutinizing them, should yield plenty of good discussion for the future.

-------

In the meantime, I'd like to say that it's gratifying to see discussions picking up here in the best thread decorum, as I knew that it would. Also, it's interesting to see that this forum is beginning to resemble a form of catch-all for discussing topics that have been, technically-speaking, off topic, historically, in the other generic locations. Such as: The Last Mile, VoIP, Next Gen Internet, etc. Perhaps this is the way it should be.

Dave, I told you that this place would take on a personality of its own. Good Show. Now, let's see some soliton, photonic chip and nontraditional media discussions ensue... and I can't even address what's here already. smile

I've been scanning the board, and I'm encouraged that we're off to a good start. Thanks, All.
