And if INTC doesn't go to 70 before Friday...well like you said it's a risky play :-).

I was tempted to go for some Oct SPX puts for this past morning's buy, but my inability to monitor things intra-day makes that out of my risk tolerance zone.

I can't sell later in the day, have to do all my trading in the AM, up until about 11:30 est, latest.

This can be both a handicap and an asset. I definitely can't recommend anyone do index option trading like I do, unless you're very careful, deliberate, and conservative (strike and expiry).

As for individual equity options, its too much of a crap-shoot on which way sentiment is on any particular stock. Too many times I've seen the stock go the opposite the way you think it would, given whatever the news is.
