Steve,
What is your take on Data Return? They seem pretty small. Do you think the Microsoft connections will be enough to carry the day for this company.

Steve: have you had a chance to look at KWIC(Kennedy-Wilson). They are coming out with a new (eproperty.com) auction site. To the best of my knowledge this is an internet first. It is up and running, with the first online auction ever scheduled in a couple of weeks. I am wondering if this should be valued as an ecommerce play or as a real estate play? Earnings are very good...but, if valued as an ecommerce play it seems extremely undervalued at these levels. Thanks a lot.

Re: MRVC. Could you elaborate on why you feel it is "more on the commodity side"? I don't see anything in their new product lineup that could be classified as "commodity". I'm curious as to what you see, to make that comment.

SCF- Hello, Steve. What are your opinions on this one.

It looks as though the market is doing its october thing again. I'm going to start buying some stocks for the holiday season push in a few days, after the market finds support again. Which ones look attractive to you at this point. Thanks again. hg.

The PCQuote.com (PCQT) IPO has been priced downward and has been repeatedly delayed. Apparently, Prudential is having difficulty selling the deal to institutions. Do you find anything compelling about their business plan? TIA.

Steve: Your thoughts on NTXY. Too many "eyeballs" for OTCBB stock @ $7 with light float in my opinion. Could be a sleeper. What do you think??

TIA -- Skipper

SEARCH ENGINE VALUATION Serious question here Steve: how do you value a search engine? I notice that an engine called SavvySearch was just purchased by CNET for $37 million, I think it was. I'm trying to get a ballpark sense of the value of a smaller engine that is probably a bit less-travelled than SavvySearch. You seem to be pretty good with using metrics to get rough valuations for companies that are difficult to value. Any opinion on Savvy Search, or suggestions for making comparisons? I do have vital statistics on the engine in question so a comparison would be theoretically possible. But I'm not sure what a page view or user database is worth for a search engine with a moderate following.

I would also appreciate it if people would contact me if they know something about this area.

OT: I need some help. Why there was no bid & ask on DOT October options, calls and puts, since this morning? There are activities on November option but not on October options. I am holding October PUT 690. I don't want to exercise my PUT, so any idea what's the best I can do?

Steve,

Are you in any way associated with Netstock Direct? Your logo "arrow" is the same as their logo. Just curious. A response would be appreciated.

Steve - I was surprised to see Sportsline (574.4M) and Quokka (396.5M) so close in value. I've always thought of Sportsline as one of the premiere sports web sites and Quokka as an interesting niche player. How do you think they should be valued against one another?
