>AMZN awarded patent!

Just another one in a long line of over-broad patents that have been issued by a patent office that has neither the staff nor the expertise to understand the stuff they rubber-stamp.

And just as with all those ridiculously overbroad patents in the software field issued in the last few years, this one will be declared invalid in short order.

I bet the company who managed to get the patent on "multimedia" thought they were going to get rich.. Or the guy who patented "animated characters in a video game" a few years back and quickly got laughed out of court by the producers of duke nukem.

Priceline's patent didnt stop microsoft from offering the exact same service model as an option in their travel offerings..

AMZN should patent the 'new metric'.
