At best the Ole' Blue Bucket is a cutesy operation for people who don't golf and want to learn a little about a placer mining. They pay their $100 bucks and get $10 bucks worth of gold and listen to some people who have read some history about gold mining. There are recreational mining sites all over north America, even for diamond in Arkansas. A hobby is a wonderful thing, if you enjoy it and don't take it too seriously. Enjoy your hobby!!

Ole, jsut wondering, At what point might one expect some of the current "shovel & pan" operations to become mining operations - again. Here some of the "shovel & pan" hobby operations were in better times real full fleged mines. We looking at around $550 before these come back - really on line? Just gut feels, all I'm looking for. I know of at least one place operatiing as a "show place historical mine" which can become an operating mine again around $600.
