I'll have to go back to my old postings on Yahoo... may take me a bit.

My point was sometimes Japanese companies will opt for the long term strategic worth of an investment as opposed to the short term maximizing of value with a quick sale. Different capital markets... <g> (Which are changing with the decrease of corporate cross-holdings, but still exist.)

I can't confirm this figure with a link, but one Yahoo poster stated it was 20%+. And I made a mistake in my previous post. The company is Sumitomo Osaka Cement not Sumitomo Glass and here is link to the page on their site that lists Ortel as an affiliated company.
