The salary cap makes trades difficult. GB's Ron Wolf is one of the few GMs who likes to make trades. Obviously, Buffalo isn't going to do any such deal with the Jets, since both are divisional rivals and both are vying for the Super Bowl. I remember in 1994(?), KC lost a close game to the Colts in the playoffs because their kicker couldn't make a field goal to save his life. The Raiders had kept 2 good kickers on their roster all year just so that KC couldn't pick one of them up. That's vintage Al Davis. <g>

<<Can anyone explain why the Jets, which were touted as having all the intangibles to go to the Superbowl, would not trade for a QB?>>

Man, I wonder what the Jets would do with Jeff George at QB? What a shame it is having that talent sit on the bench all year. Of course, if his attitude was better, he could have been the next Marino.

Tom is right though.....the salary cap makes it difficult these days to really get a good, top notch QB. Guess you just have to get lucky like the Rams.
