Go2Net hires Mike Quigley as Vice President of Marketing
TO EXTEND COMPANY'S MARKETING, ADVERTISING AND BRANDING EFFORTS

SEATTLE, October 13, 1999 -- Go2Net, Inc. (Nasdaq: GNET), a network of
branded, technology- and community-driven Web sites
(http://www.go2net.com/), has hired Mike Quigley as vice president of
marketing. Quigley, who joins Go2Net from Electronic Arts, will direct the
expansion of Go2Net's marketing and branding programs, along with the
strategic growth of Go2Net's marketing team.

As marketing director for the Action Publishing Division of Electronic Arts,
Quigley led the marketing efforts for a diverse base of branded EA products,
including licensed properties from Dream Works Interactive (Jurassic Park,
Medal of Honor), MGM (James Bond/Tomorrow Never Dies) and Mattel (Hot
Wheels). Prior to EA, Quigley contributed to the successful North American
launch of Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation. He also worked in
brand management for the Walt Disney Company's Buena Vista Home
Entertainment, where he managed both rental and sell-through home video
releases, including such top sellers as Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs and Pinocchio.

"Mike brings Go2Net an impressive base of marketing leadership experience,
accompanied by the proven ability to successfully direct marketing programs
for a variety of widely-known brands," said Russell C. Horowitz, Go2Net
Chief Executive Officer. "We believe that Mike's expertise in this area
will be especially important, not only as the Go2Net Network and its
individual brands continue to increase market share within their respective
categories, but as we selectively enter new categories."

Quigley received a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from the
Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
