O/T CpsOmis; "trust" ? I don't think "anyone" should trust anything - EVER, on any message board... that was my entire point. This is an "idea" exchange here... period. That's the way I view it, an idea generator - and a sounding board; and a damn good one imho... But; as far as a "hype" - whatever... once again; "once you buy - you can not sell untill you die"... folks; these are profit vehicles... meant to "rent" - not own, not marry and no allegiance ... If you find yourself getting "emotional" - & rooting for the home team.... I'd stick to mutual funds. Don't think the alleged "hype" stocks - have failed to make significant profits for trading and "ALL" remain strong long term holds going forward; "ALL" have had significant debt restructuring, equity partners/JV's; and have improving fundamentals. Sadly; some are bedazzled by the volatility of the sector; but that "aint" going away any time soon boys... No one's charging you anything for 'em (VBG) and no one twisted your arm, or clicked your mouse... My point on MHR was about what is a significant charge against a company; such as they "didn't file a 10 Q" - that's a biggie... hardly a bite there... ,maybe a nip at best & certainly deserved imho ! anyway.... got RDC here ? I'll follow the top Mgmt teams here - love Dore at GLBL & Palmer at RDC: ie: <<C. R. Palmer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, ``Results for the third quarter were improved over the second quarter, largely due to the contributions of the drilling and aviation divisions. The contract dispute with Amoco (UK) Exploration Company continues to reduce quarterly revenues and pre-tax income by approximately $16 million. Currently, all 15 available Rowan rigs in the Gulf of Mexico are committed, and one additional rig is preparing to relocate there from the North Sea. ``I do not want to tempt fate by predicting the future, but the facts are these: demand for oil and natural gas is increasing and production of oil and gas is decreasing through depletion and reduced drilling activity. ``Demand for rigs in the U.S., particularly offshore jack-ups, has been increasing for the past several weeks. The fundamentals are in place for a marked improvement in Rowan's economic performance. ``We are ready!'>> and I am "ready" too - hey; Artic - being off margin I get to average into & load the boat on RDC here - 1st forray at $14 15/16ths - sitting at each 1/2 on down - C'Mon to $13 pleeeeeeze. I am a seller of ESV here and through $20 at each $1 up; a seller in GLBL at $8 1/2 and each 1/2 up ( only a seller in GLBL for the short term - definitely one of my fav' longtermers) and am a strong buyer of RDC here. Hi end jack ups are the sweet spot of the entire drilling sector - RDC has 'em... I'm sold. Like PGO VTS here - on a retrace - I am adding these if we see an earnings report sell off... MDR still cheap Gary - but, I am waiting to add at the $17ish level.... Patience... it brought RDC today. Maybe PGO VTS MDR tomorrow, next week ? Got MHR & RDC ?
