Well, how about assuming that the CIA had feigned ignorance and surprise to let it happen in India so that it would have an excuse to "interfere" in that region, sooner than later, eh? Perhaps it was "allowed" to happen then to deflect attention away from events at the homefront.

If the CIA had indeed been taken by surprise in India, perhaps this time it is trying to redeem itself. However, the coup should not have come as a surprise to anybody considering that it has been widely known for some time the Pakistan Army has been at loggerheads with their Government.

As the CIA has been responsible for the epithet of "UGLY AMERICAN" being cast on the US in Asia and elsewhere, largely due to its past nefarious/covert activities, it is relatively easy to assume the covert hand of the CIA had hastened the coup.
