*OT* I think Broadcom is a better play too....my point is, that, as year 2000 comes on the horizon, Intel (the stock) will benefit...it may take until January to begin (for the stock to reach 80,90's again)..but, in first 6 months of year, I anticipate one could get their 30% return....then I would consider getting out...

Missing two quarters in a row...it wouldn't surprise if the stock is lame for a few weeks....but I think the downside here is limited...

Maybe I didnt understand the question...but if Celeron chips are selling CHEAPER than expected (due to competition)...I would think this (lower component costs) is a good thing for Dell (offset to, in some cases, rising component costs)...allowing Dell to retain more margin (all things being equal)..I don't see the direct relationship (lower ASP for chips)..to unit sales (for Dell)....As we know, shift to under 1000 has been going on for a while.....For long-time, Dell had no competitive offering...this (past) quarter..first real quarter in which Dell is offering an option...so I expect that segment is popping nicely for Dell...additionally, Dell did a heckofa lot of TV ad in 3Q....(while Compaq conspicuous by its absence)...My SWAG is that this will help Dell's consumer unit sales too...

Longer-term, for some of the reasons you stated, I am less bullish on Intel (the stock)...the company will be with us for quite a while..

Braves has this afternoon in the bag.....Millwood is the guy...unhittable...
