The prince today denying rumors that he was taking an investment stake in compaq computer. The rumors appeared on jag notes web site yesterday, sending compaq shares up 6%. Right now: Are trading. Terry: Down about a dollar. Bill: Down about a dollar a share while the prince denies any interest in compaq , the company does fit his investment profile. In recent years, the prince has taken substantial stakes in unloved companies, including citigroup, apple, eurodisney, twa, saatchi & saatchi, motorola, news corp. And planet hollywood. In the case of citigroup, he bought in 1991, when the nation's biggest bank was down on its luck, and has turned a $0.5 Billion investment into more than $7 billion. A different story with planet hollywood, one of his few losers which filed for bankruptcy yesterday.
