RE <<<Apparently the VIA 133 chipset has some 'issues'. This basically rules that chipset out of the Coppermine race...>>

Steve, Do you know what the problems are? And if cumine is limited to the 810 chipset, then the number of sales (of cumine) will depend on the # of chipsets intc can produce.

Steve - Re: 'Apparently some folks with coppermine systems are have problems with incompatibility issues as well... Apparently the VIA 133 chipset has some 'issues'"

Is the VIA chip showing incompatability with 0.25 micron Pentium IIIs - or just the Coppermine ?

I guess one conclusion we can draw is that Coppermines are already shipping !

Steve, speaking of the i810e and Intel chipsets, it seems like a no-brainer that Intel should release a version of it minus integrated graphics but with added AGP-4X support and ATA66.

Also, I noticed that The Register says Intel will probably release the 840 chipset along with a dual CPU "Carmel" motherboard in "late October" -- I assume October 25'th. These motherboards feature two RAMBUS channels, each with two RAMBUS sockets. I had heard December for the i840 chipset. Is The Register all wet?
