Brian, David doesn't have to beat Goliath, just undermine their pricing power so their profit margins shrink. Intel cannot grow their earnings as fast as they used to and their earnings growth will continue to shrink. I agree AMD is having problems supplying box makers with enough CPUs and they're even more hurt by the Taiwan shortages than Intel. However, they're now serious competition at both the low cost and high performance ends. And, don't forget about the Cyrix CPU, NSM sold it to a Taiwan company who will most likely make a much better effort at it than NSM did. I also expect them to be more effective than Intel at selling it in Asia. I wouldn't buy AMD or INTC.
