Yes I am aware of the USO. The way telcos interpret is they offer access...not affordable access. The telco will install the phone but that does not guarantee that someone will use it.

We're all kind of fishing around in the dark in guessing the size of the market, because we have no feel for the price elasticity of the service.

It would be interesting to see how many minutes are booked at the expensive minutes, eg., Universal Service. Several months back I called a telephone company (St. Louis, I think), and asked how much calls to various cities would cost if booked at standard rates. Lots of the numbers came in above $1 per minute, as I remember. I have no idea how many calls are booked at those rates, but would love to know.

For me, I'm confident that the XX million viewed by BLS as the "addressable market" is a significant multiple of what G* needs for success. I'd love to have it pinned down a little more, however.
