I don't know what the U.S. policy is on gold leases, but I still am lost on what is sinister about this sequence of events: (1) lease rates spike to multiyear highs after some Central Banks announce limits on future leasing; and (2) high lease rates entice other Central Banks to increase leasing activity. Seems like basic economics to me.
