in_outdaily, A couple of things I could add. One the DOE figures come out tomorrow AM. If they confirm or better the API figures from Tuesday that would give us a booster for flying into the market headwind. The other thing is it is not impossible for the OSX to decouple from the market and go against that downtrend. For those that doubt this check out Sept-OCT 98. The XAU does this more regularly. It Autumn, the leaves are colorful the sun is still warm the air is brisk, a beautiful day. Don't blame the poor market on the month; the best thing about it is that winter chill that is there with the morning frost. What the heck, I think I'll stick those stocks in a cubbyhole, forget'em and go hunting or fishing! BEst Regards, Roebear

Speaking of earnings--after HAL's warning and RDC's report today (two days early, according to Reuters,I should have checked myself) I'm not convinced earnimgs don't matter. RIG is supposed to report Oct 21. Multex says +$.37 is concensus for 3rd quarter. Whispernumber.com doesn't have RIG numbers. Does anyone have--or hear--anything other than concensus numbers for RIG?? Or APC? Investor relations says report on Oct. 27, and concensus is +$.12. Any info appreciated. Victor W
