Clinton initatives I think a good example is this whole idea of the U.S. as the world's policeman. Nobody really wants that, but letting whole regions fall into chaos and dictatorship doesn't seem so good either. So we have police actions like Somolia, Haiti, Bosnia, and Indonesia. None were very happy situations, but the trend is good. As the U.S. learned how to operate better in the circumstances there is more support from other democracies and the role of U.S. as police of the world is actually reducing. Clinton showed some leadership and the world has responded. TP
