Jane, It's been rather flustrating holding CS. I sold a small portion a few days ago to free up some funds. I agree it will be bought out but how many opportunities will pass by before that happens?
Still holding
CS - buyout
ENTU - love the huge volume, another big up day earnings 19th
CHKP - acting really responsible earnings 21st
GBLX, QWST - probably will reenter both if not tomorrow, soon
NXTL - been there done that, might go a little lower
rich

Jane, I have not sold a share of CS. Which, I am averaged in with, probably a higher price than most here. I refuse to take a loss on this, if, I have to hold it until the South Pole melts. Fundamentally, the company seems to really be putting things together. Price wise, I can't understand the decline in the stock, other than the specialist keeping the lid down for the buyout... Who the h$$$ knows.

Jnae - What happens to ASTN on Friday?

It really ran up today at the end. The only thing I saw was a new website for their eVWAP system. Is that suppose to be a big deal.

Have Fun!

Jane, as you well know, I have been bullish on cs as a LONG TERM INVESTMENT for some time. I have absolutely no doubt that it will get taken out one day. However, having said that, my position against expecting a buyout "any day now" is well documented. I have repeatedly warned on this thread against the "cs will go this week sometime or certainly this coming monday" mentality. Tim was preaching the any day buyout hype since May until he lost the faith as he is prone to do now and again for no clear reason and then found his cs religion and renewed his evangelistic efforts with increased vigor. I must confess that I am looking for a buyout soon myself but once again warn that it might come, if it comes, next spring, next summer, or maybe not ever. My gut level instinct tells me that we are likely gone by Xmas but I have been wrongly expecting a buyout for 2 years. I see little real downside risk for this stock, but if the newbies have all their investment capital in this stock, and they are looking for current market opportunties they they may well want to lighten up on cs and hold a core position and free funds for trading. Just my two cents worth, and as always, take it with a TON of salt.

what does everybody REALLY think about CS now??

hey jane!!

there is something about this question that bothers me... have been trying to put my finger on it... and i think i'm ready to take a stab at it...

at first i thought it was because you asked it in the way you did, and when tim was not around... but decided that's not it... tim has encouraged people to only do what they feel comfortable with, and to keep their portfolios diversified...

i finally realized it is this... if people would say one thing when tim is here... and something different when he is gone... then they may want to reexamine why they are in cs and whether they do feel truly comfortable there...

sure i would like to see it go up every day, but i have been thinking of it as a longer term investment from the beginning... a turnaround/takeover play so to speak... so the day to day fluctuations have not bothered me... but that is just me...

i realize that your post was most likely in jest... but it does remind us all to think about why we are in any stock... and if it is solely because someone else is... then we may want to take this opportunity to rethink what we are doing...

have a good evening... you are really making some great picks and appreciate all your good posts here...

kathy :)

ps... lets all say a little prayer for tim that his tests are going fine and he is well...

That's quite a line-up Jane!

Not real happy about CS right about now...:-(
but still holding it

CS news releases reminds me of a cheap OTC BB trying to hype the heck out of itself. Wish they would cool their jets a bit. I am hanging in there at this point but won't get to where I am taking a loss on the dang thing.
