SG Cowen said it raised its earnings estimates on SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC. Raised 1Q 2000 EPS estimate to $0.31 from $0.29. Raised fiscal 2000 EPS estimate to $1.74 from $1.70. Raised fiscal 2001 EPS estimate to $2.15 from $2.10. "Some Y2K uncertainties remain, but visibility will be aided by big backlog cushion."

I anticipate huge backlogs too. I remember an interview with our CEO on CNBC some weeks back and he said that they were working "all out" to fill new orders and they still had quite a big backlog. It look's like SG Cowen agrees.

Sun Microsystems Inc (SUNW)

SUN MICROSYSTEMS placed a $35,000 order for AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES's zone cabling products to be installed at Sun's Colorado campus. American Access said this third order of the anticipated 18-phase project included 50 ceiling units. Sun Microsystems makes and sells hardware, software and services for establishing intranets and expanding the Internet. American Access, with 1998 revenue of $4.9 million, makes and sells products to support the structured cabling system components of the telecommunications industry. (Dow Jones)
