Television to the Third Dimension

3D Cable Television to be Premiered At the Western Show in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1999--Dynamic Digital Depth Inc. (CDNX:DDE) will showcase 3D cable television delivered through General Instrument Corporation's (NYSE:GIC - news) DCT-5000+ advanced interactive digital consumer terminal at The Western Show.

In June of this year, DDD entered into a development agreement with GI to integrate DDD's DeepSee(TM) 2D compatible 3D-transmission technologies with GI's consumer set top terminal. The project will result in the ability to provide consumers with 3D programming that can be watched in either 2D or 3D on the viewer demand.

''Integrating DDD's technology in our consumer set top terminals enables broadcasters to transmit 2D compatible 3D programming using the same single channel as the 2D programming. This provides a cost effective and efficient way to broadcast 3D,'' said Denton Kanouff, VP Marketing for GI's Digital Network Systems business unit.'' This is also another example of the power and flexibility of GI's interactive digital platform and the DCT 5000+.''

DDD's DeepSee(TM) technology is integrated into GI's advanced digital set top terminal and decodes the 3D data when a viewer chooses to watch in 3D. ''Our DeepSee(TM) 3D content and delivery technologies are creating new levels of expectation in digital broadcasting,'' said Chris Yewdall, President and CEO of DDD USA Inc. ''We've made terrific progress with GI, and The Western Show is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our achievements to the cable industry.''

The Western Show is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from December 14 - 17. The DCT-5000+ set top will be on display at GI's booth, number 1401 in the South Hall.
