Dear Bill, if you read AMAT's report to the SEC, I believe AMAT would mention the competition.

Personally, I would not worry about AMAT. I don't care what Charlie says. You can have the best product in the world but if the company's management isn't any good, the company won't be able to hold on to its position.

As an example, look at AMD (Advanced Micro Devices). I bought shares in that company five or six years ago. AMD competes against Intel. After about six months, I decided that AMD would be lucky if it could ever put its chips in a box much less ship them. I sold the stock at a loss.

Guess what? A year or so ago, I heard AMD had shipping problems ~ still.

What about AMD these days? They have serious problems. Their last LOSS was BETTER THAN EXPECTED!!!

If there is something new out there, do you really believe that AMAT does NOT KNOW ABOUT IT?
