Since automatic update installation seems to be the topic du jour, it may be worth mentioning that Red Hat can also do this via the AutoRPM tool. Unfortunately this doesn't ship with the standard distribution (I think). Although PCWeek made noise about the insecurity of automatically installing an upgrade over the network, it's clear that they don't know that all packages from Red Hat are electronically signed, and can be verified prior to install...

Now where is that 66 mill in revenue going to come from.


I don't think they ever planned on it coming from CD sales...
