SFD, there isn't as much insider buying of the newer internet companies just in general vs. those you mention - cpq, coms etc. Its because the recently public companies compensate employees largely in stock anyway. There has been very little insider buying at Amazon and not much at egrp either. I don't think it means much.

I'm not in nite buy I bought egrp a few days ago and am encouraged by the way they held today. This is very near the bottom. I was happy with the egrp report. The few stocks in the financials that keep declining at these levels (like sch) are doing so because they are losing mkt share to others in the sector, which is ok if you are holding the winners.

Sir it is easy to criticize management, but management's job's is not to manage the stock price, but to build a long and lasting business that is profitable. The more profitable the better. You Sir worry too much about intraday crosscurrents that have nothing to do with the longer term. Say more that a week.

This management team seems to be ahead of the curve in the market making business they are protecting their turf i.e midpoint pricing and they provide liquidity that ECN's don't. As far as I am concerned they are one of the best managed companies that I follow.

Going forward they will grow at a rate faster that Market Volume growth. As long as they do this, the stock will take care of itself.

BTW I added to my position just before the market closed at 24 5/8. So I am putting my money behind my convictions. My time horizon is 1+ months.

Wonder why no insiders seem anxious to pick up this bargain - and yes, I know all about diversification blah, blah, blah - funny that CPQ guys are buying, what about diversification there? C'mon, can't buy 1 share? Not 1? LOL! After the stock is off over 70% from its high?

SFD,

When ASND dropped from 80ish all the way down to 22, no insider bought any shares. Not even 1 (until a new CFO was installed at/near the bottom). During that long, painful drop, the only thing insiders did was sell, and sell they did, amounting to considerable sales of ASND stock at each quarterly window.

One-half year later, ASND was at 60 and, weeks after that, was bought out by LU, taking it up to about 100.

Getting back to NITE, I think that the insider sales by people like KP have been minimal compared to other tech stocks I've watched. I just wouldn't take this to be a sign of anything.

SFD,

Go and dig out ASND thread about the same time frame period three years ago and you will see the future 18 months from now. NITE will not be able to stand alone and MER or other brokerage house or enen NYSE or NASD will buy them out.
