Spouse just regaled me with a story she heard ... somewhere. Apparently there was this front yard in LA with statuary waterfowl resident therein. Duck and 'lings. (Hi Mel!) Seems that one day one of the 'lings went MISSING.

I meeeaann, who would stoop so low. (I know. Freshmen. we did such stuff. We were a melanoma on the bald pate of the Establishment.)

A month later, the lady of the house gets the mail, and the Prodigal Duckling was there, in the box. Attached was an anonymous envelope containing photos of Hawaii. Gorgeous scenery. And in each picture, the duckling was prominently placed and posed.

I'm going out front now and spray-painting myself pink all over and learning to stand stone still on one leg.
