It is looking like a good setup for such a play.

Last month i had the following plan.

YEN was strengthening early in options expiration week---of course concern in the US market followed. My plan was that if on Thursday the YEN continued to move up against the dollar, i would bet that some official statement is made by the Japanese goverment on Friday's trading. Believe it not, that is how it unfolded. I was taking a calculated gamble.
If the same thing happens tonite in Japan, i am positively going to play calls--for October. I might wait if i feel nervous about the economic reports out Friday. If tomorrow is a selloff, then tomorrow afternoon might be good---gambling on a tame inflation report. If the market rallies tomorrow, then i will probably be waiting til Friday morning.

MSFT looks like a good candidate.

It is really hard to plan everything in advance and you have to just get a feel for how things are going before committing. I am just looking for good "odds".
