As long as you're being pedantic, you said

Based on the overall tone, I guess "down from 41%" should be a sub-clause. Ie, that the margin was 35% in the last quarter.

First, Ie doesn't begin a sentence, it follows a colon or semi-colon. Further, both characters should be lower case, followed by periods.(i.e.).
