QXL.COM the EURO-EBAY--I can't figure it out. On the Nasdaq today, QXL was up a few cents and on the London stock market they were down a few cents. From my experience stocks trading on 2 markets are always in sync. When a company in the USA puts out an IPO, example US$16.00/share, the shares on day #1 may double or triple, but the UK system kept things under control. It appears those living in the UK and the Isle of Man, etc. were offered a fixed number of shares at the IPO price US$16.00/sh.. When shares hit the market on the Nasdaq, everyone knew this and the shares were sold give or take a few cents at about US$16/share. Would that be correct.?? This is why, I would say, there is no large volume on the Nasdaq today, although the London stock exchange shows a volume over 400,000 today. I don't know if that's full shares or 1/4 shares under the UK system. I'll give the UK one big plus - the shares were sold under an IPO without major price fluctuations. The USA could learn from that. I see they have a nickname for eBay in Europe - Many call it Flea-Bay.!! I hope they support the home town boy's.!!
