I read one account that claimed that the treaty would "prevent the US from maintaining its aging nuclear arsenal". One wonders what the standard of comparison is for describing our arsenal as "aging".

Nuclear weapons technology is not a static science. Testing must continue. Testing allows the DOD to detect operational and safety measures to improve those types of weapons. JLA
