To me the difference is whether one worships the pile of money amassed or whether he uses a suitable portion for helping others and being a good Christian in his thinking and deeds. Good deeds alone will not get one into Heaven but, only the Faith in Jesus Christ will do that. From there on, it appears that we will be in disagreement. Perhaps you so adamantly defend the vatican is because, being a Catholic, you condone a bunch of average Joes pretending to be closer to God than all others, and appreciate the fact that they are wallowing in gold, jewelry,fine art,sumptuous dining,and the adoration of the masses while the largest percentage of their followers suffer in abject poverty in third world nations and are starving by the thousands, yet still sending the required offerings to the vatican while receiving no aid and support in return except a wave and allowing the peons to kiss a ring.
