David -

Thanks for the posts about backing up the critical files in the Netscape users directory. Backups are so important, yet so easy to overlook. That's why any backup method has to be fast and easy to use.

I've decided to go ahead and buy the USB Zip 250 for the following reasons:

1 - It is small and light enough to carry around in my notebook bag without weighing me down

2 - It will allow me to backup my Quicken files, Netscape user files and other stuff easily and quickly, which means that I will actually do it.

3 - The USB interface will make it usable on all sorts of other computers I may run into, including my home PC and all newer Macs.

4 - It's really cool looking.

5 - Only $179 at Frye's, and probably cheaper somewhere online.

I was considering a PC-Card Clik! drive, but unfortunately my current, cable-less Xircom 10/100 Ethernet card/56k modem takes up both PC-Card slots on my notebook. I love not having to use dongles to connect to it, but it's a drag that they accomplished that by making it so thick.

Anyway, with the Xircom card installed, I can't use the Clik! drive. Hence my decision to go with the USB Zip 250.

I believe that Iomega's technology is still useful in today's world. I believe the company is not going bankrupt anytime soon. (It's odd to believe they are going bankrupt when they are actually cash flow positive.)

I also believe that management has failed to execute, and they have a long way to go to re-establish any credibility with investors. I continue to watch from the sidelines, with no position in the stock.
