What seems to be lost in some of the reactions to the INTC/DSP deal is this: the market for CDMA ASICS is not a mature market. It is in hypergrowth.

There is a greater danger with insufficient supply killing interest in CDMA technology than in too much supply. Again, this is a big win for QCOM and its technology - INTC just voted CDMA.

Would we all have rather seen MOT buy DSP? Or INTC buy a company that makes GSM chips?

I think not!
