Based on the weather we have had in Michigan so far this fall, I am quite confident we will NOT have a warm winter. Something unusual is going on with the weather patterns. Lake Huron is down this year to levels not seen since the early 60's. Levels were normal last year. Parent's house has an extra 50 feet of beach.

Interesting article in Orlando Sentinel this am. Too long to re-type, but the jist is that this winter is expected to be COLDER that the past two because the warmth of El Nino has faded. The article goes on to say that the weather patterns are closer to those observed during the crop damaging freezes in the 80's....Chief meteorologist from SSB says there is nothing pointing to a warm winter right now. (Of course he said that last year, too!!)

Jon, I don't know where you are in Texas, but in Houston were headed up to about 90 for the next few days, then coming down to a projected low of 43 on Monday; however I can still contribute by using my AC.
Take Care
Steve

RE: Temps

Sometime during the day I try to hit grads.iges.org

Note -4 to -12 below normal ten days out. This trend has remained fairly constant for the last month.
