Hi GV Tucker and Felix, about DSP Communications...

What do you think about the aquisition price for DSP Communications? The last post (below) implies a mutual fund was purchasing just prior to the acquisition. I'm wondering what generally happens when the price of the stock runs up before an acqusition - does the acquiring company usually need to pay for this run up?
Thanks,
Amy J

This post is borrowed, with thanks, from Tejek on the AMD thread:

" About 4-6 weeks ago DSP took a preciptous drop to 18-19 from 32 over fear that earnings would be short. Over the past 4 days, shares have made a dramatic rise with DSP trading at 35+ today, up 7+, accompanied with the announcement below. BTW intc is trading down 1 1/8. "

Rose, I personally think that DSP is a prime time acquisition candidate for someone like Nokia or Ericsson. Shares were being purchased in 10,000 share blocks until recently (about 1/2 hour ago).. A mutual fund maybe taking a position?
