Glen -
They did not warn of a shortage, they responded to reports of shortages in the retail sector. Capellas has come as close to saying CPQ will make estimates as he can during the quiet period.

I agree 100% with Andy Neff - the big 3 have more leverage than DELL and also they have less of their business in PCs.

Also CPQ said no material impact... This is not a pre-warning.

I do think HP warning was a smokescreen for business weakness - but that's HP. Carly can get away with anything at the moment but the honeymoon will end in a few weeks and she will go under the microscope like everyone else.

I took it as positive news. That's as far as CPQ can say
now without breaking laws: "We're right on target or better."
This was the best way to get rid of few extra inventory for
good. If sentiment toward CPQ wasn't this low, we could've
seen 2~3 points higher by opening.
