>You embarrass yourself and your
friends feel that embarrassment. Despite your addled "fabulations", <

E never embarrasses herself imo, and I as her friend (I hope I may call myself that E) am never ever embarrassed for her, or "feel" her embarrassment (which is not present). I always feel better when I read her posts, and am proud to know her and read her even when I do not agree with her. This post was brought to my attention- and as none of her friends are HERE right now I simply had to correct you- I think all E's friends think extremely highly of her all the time.

I shall not reply to any replies to this. So I would advise you to save your breath- this is simply my expression of sincere admiration and affection for E. But of course you will do as you wish.

You embarrass yourself and your friends feel that embarrassment.

DId you just make this up trying to be clever?
Did I miss a survey? Who are these friends feeling E's nonexistent embarrassment??

I consider E a very good friend, and she certainly doesn't embarrass me. I find her articulate, bright, and witty, and I am proud to be associated with her.

The only thing I don't understand is her willingness to continue posting here in such an unrewarding and unpleasant forum; most of us have chosen to leave it to you.

Airhead = Bimbo going on national TV interviewing an author without even cracking the title page of his book.

Add me to the list of people who are not embarrassed for E. I do sometimes wish she should let go of an argument, but that's not her nature. I've even joked about it, that she will only let me go if I plead that I've got a broken leg, or my house is on fire. But that doesn't embarrass me. Someone said she must have pit bull DNA, which is a very good way of putting it. But, as she has said, time and time again, she is only responding to what is posted to her, so all you have to do is give it up.

Excellent responses by Morris dispel many myths. I agree with David that Couric's not reading the book before interviewing the author smacks of intellectual laziness of the first order. NBC ought to be embarrassed.

E is a highly intelligent woman who has very strong negative responses to Ronald Reagan. She does not embarrass herself nor does she embarrass her friends, unless one could maintain that her stance on the issue of abortion embarrassed me--which it does not, despite our acute disagreement on this, another highly charged issue.

Zoltan, please try not to box E as a thinker into this small box in which you disagree. If I had done so, I'd have missed the joy of a treasured 3D friend who has a great deal to share in the way of insight and sheer brain power. We all ride our hobby horses from time to time; we all have our moments of special insight that are thought mad; we all have our blind spots.

I dare say that if all of us were judged on our least abstract and most cool and rational thinking, we'd all appear fools.

And now add me to the list of the friends of E that do not feel embarrassed by her posts. She is one of the most reasonable and objective posters on S.I., and I admire her. I don't admire people who would make statements about how others feel without consulting them. Now, can you find one of E's friends that actually is embarrassed by her posts?
