Re:HLTH

Docs these days are so depressed and beseiged by managed care that they have no time to implement IT. First adopters will be managed care industry/gov't- key for HLTH is somehow to get into Medicare transaction business. If they can do that, spike after MSFT announcement will be chickenfeed. Medicare is a huge business, and whatever standards are adopted by HCFA are soon adopted by private insurance. Get Medicare, you got it all, from the perspective of a company trying to make money as an intermediary.

Healthcare is a tough nut to crack, but HLTH has bigtime first mover advantage- and I think this is an industry where first mover advantage really means something. Only competitor that I am aware of is CARI, and they are very local (NY city area, but plans to expand).

Tom D, any thoughts?
