Noteworthy comments from Firing Squad's initial Coppermine review.

Notes
Winstone99 runs through several scripted real-world applications. It tests the complete system, everything from CPU performance to the speed of the hard disk. [Unfortunately, we've been hearing from manufacturers that most current benchmarks don't accurately measure the true performance of the Coppermine, and Intel is working with benchmark developers to help create new tests that show the Coppermine's true strengths.]

For now, we'll have to settle for the Winstone Business test. [Hey, the test uses real world programs, and we're not complaining. The real world Winstone performance tests show the Coppermine's weakness -the smaller L2 cache.]

<<What are you trying to do? You noticed that Paul is one of the few folks who believes Firingsquad and so you are taking advantage of that to scare him? ;-)>>

Hehe....well let's just say I thought it was pretty funny to hear Paul going on and on about "the firingsquad" several months ago.

Woodworking and spice racks meets rocket launchers and railguns? Worlds collide! It's like Warren Beatty doing rap songs....
