re: So isn't it already getting good efficiencies in manufacturing?

Sure, and QCOM pockets the difference by charging a premium, which could narrow. Maybe your last statements takes care of it. I have no idea, no one does till we find out.

QCOM has known about INTC's purchase for some time, IMO. This is confirmed by QCOM's shift of fabs from INTC to Taiwan seminconductor. Why else would QCOM shift manufacturing completely away from INTC? I haven't heard of any complaints about INTC. Further, I believe that QCOM has already blessed INTC's purchase and negotiated a price, at least in principal, on future licensing/royalty deals. INTC would not move forward with this purchase without certain assurances from QCOM. QCOM hold the keys to this deal and they are smiling right now. We should be, too.
