with my Roth which so far I have funded with 4K... but I'm still trying

I see; $4K is sorta tough and you are probably more skillful than I. Well, I have a co-sponsored 401K with Vanguard so it's very very long term. I had an opportunity and was able to transfer $18K from the 401K into an Ira a/c earlier this year. So far the Ira A/c (under my own management, <gg>) has out-performed, but it's currently all cash.

I can first buy then sell in the same day with my Ira, but the sale transaction will take three days to complete(cash cycle).
