<I think one of the subtle nuances to keep in mind here is that Intel views technology from the standpoint of creating a standard and then reaping steady returns from that standardization for years and years. My guess is that Intel sees an opening to standardize a future wireless technology, by it 3G or otherwise. If that is indeed the plan, then Qualcomm has to be considered a competitor at this point. from Brian - Motley Fool>

Maybe I am missing something, but hasn't the "standard" been established, by QCOM. INTC may come up with nuances that add value. They probably will. So will others. So will QCOM!

Sure INTC will be a competitor to QCOM. They will also be paying royalties to QCOM on 3G product based on CDMA, which we on this thread hold as the only viable 3G technology out there.

Again, QCOM may have a smaller share of the market down the road, but 1) this has already been factored in to the financial projections and 2) it will be a hugely larger market!

Hi Bob,

I also sent a response to the Fools about that article. Yes, it is amazing how the media is allowed to print what they do. I have stopped reading all periodicals for years now, and only rely on news feeds.
