TEKTRONIX: Tektronix measurement seminars provide customers the knowledge to Focus on the Future
OCT 14, 1999, M2 Communications - BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), the worldwide leader in oscilloscopes, television test, measurement and monitoring equipment, will embark on an international tour to educate customers on the latest measurement technologies. "Focus on the Future," a multi-track seminar series, will travel throughout Asia, Australia, Canada and Latin America, from October 1999 to March 2000.
Whether designing a product or network for the next generation technology ---such as Rambus, IMT-2000, DWDM, or digital broadcast ---- design and network engineers undergo daily challenges to gain a competitive edge, meet customer demand and stay ahead of the curve. Recognizing the demand for speed and increased performance which these technologies require, Tektronix will educate engineers on advanced applications and tools to help characterize and debug leading edge designs for today and tomorrow's systems.

Tektronix experts from the factory, which include members of the newly formed "ER" engineering rambus team, will lead the seminars. The Focus on the Future series will cover leading industry topics. Seminar tracks are adapted to market needs and comprise: Rambus measurement challenges; Protocol analysis; Network monitoring and evaluating Quality of Service (QoS) in telephone networks; Real-time spectrum analysis for evaluation of W-CDMA systems; Understanding picture quality analysis; MPEG2 transport stream protocols, analysis and generation; Quality of service monitoring; and 8 VSB Basics. The company will also address: Trends in digital design; Advanced Oscilloscope Technology and Measurement Techniques; Logic analyzer solutions; and Photonics networks.
The 18-city seminar schedule includes: Sydney, Australia, October 25; Melbourne and New Zealand - need dates; Taipei, Taiwan, October 27; Hsin Chu, Taipei, October 29; Seoul, Korea, November 1; Shang Hai, China, November 3; Beijing, China, November 5; Toronto, Canada, November 15; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 15; Ottawa, Canada, November 17; Bangkok, Thailand, November 17; Montreal, Canada, November 19; Singapore, November 19; Tijuana, Mexico, January 17; Monterrey, Mexico, January 19; Guadalajara, Mexico, January 21; and Mexico City, Mexico, January 25. Seminars will be held in March in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
